Like so
many people, we dreamed of having our own business and being
free of the daily drudge. In 1989 we set about properly looking
at our options.
First we looked
at restaurants and then quickly realised we knew nothing about the
restaurant trade! Then we looked at franchises, but that felt a bit
like working for someone else. |

Then
a light bulb went on: stick to what you know! So with experience in
furniture and retailing, our cunning plan was hatched--a lifestyle
shop selling furniture, home furnishings and decorative accessories
that are different and affordable in a relaxed, friendly and enjoyable
atmosphere.
Et voila!
31st March 1990 the Interior Trading Co opened with much jubilation and celebration
(actually, exhausted from weeks of preparation, we went down the pub and
had a swift half!) |

From
the beginning, Design, Quality, Value was our mantra. Is it
a great design? Is it good quality? Is it value for money?
Whether it's a sofa, a table and chairs, a curtain fabric or
a gift, we apply the same criteria and then wrap it up in lashings
of good service (and tissue paper if it's small enough!)
We are a
tetrad specialist and stockists of some of today's most respected
names in home furnishings, like Designers Guild, Jane
Churchill,
Andrew Martin,
Romo, Christian Harold, Pinetum and Osborne & Little (to
name but a few), all of which meet our Design, Quality, Value
criteria. |

We wanted to work in a relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere with people
who are naturally chatty, helpful and downright nice. We have a great
team of trained professionals who are sincere, honest, reliable, friendly
and here to help.
Our unsung hero Maggie has an office out the back (otherwise known
as the cupboard!) and deals with all customer orders, customer and
supplier liaison and any bits of paper!

 If you
are lucky enough to live not too far away from us (within
about 100 miles), you can have your furniture delivered by
our lovely delivery boys.
Dave and
Sean are the best delivery men in the world -- you
will find them helpful, friendly and careful.
For longer
distance deliveries we use a national company, who are very
good, but you might want to consider moving closer to us
in order to get Dave and Sean!
If you
have any delivery requirements or if you're moving house
we can thoroughly recommend Dave and Sean.
Local
deliveries are free of charge, long distance deliveries may
be subject to a charge but we genuinely keep these down to
a minimum -- normally cost. |

website for one very good reason -- we like to talk to our
